I went to Aldi on Todmorden road and spent ninety three pounds on shopping. When my husband and I got to the check out there was no one else in the queue and we had four bags for life to pack. My husband started to pack and was told if he would just transfer the shopping into the trolley and pack over by the windows. He questioned this has he already packed half a bag. The till operator replied he had to close the till. My husband asked him if it was because he was going on a break and he replied no I have to get back onto the floor. There was still no one in the queue. I said I understood now it was possible to pack shopping at the check out the manager at the Active way store had told me that and he replied huffily that no they were not allowed to let people pack at the till.Now I have no problem with Aldi stores but the kind of attitude this boy had is surely counter productive . I was buying ninety three pounds worth of shopping there was no one in the queue and there were two of us to pack, His arrogant and unbending attitude made me not want to return. I have tried to phone the store but the line is not operating . Perhaps that is as well. I felt so indignant that perhaps it was better I didnt speak to someone!What is Aldis policy on packing and is it written in stone? Aldi prides itself on low prices and excellent produce which is correct but is this kind of behaviour the price we have to pay for receiving these thing?
