Aldi Longwell Green was welcomed by over 200 shoppers

Aldi Longwell Green is now open for customers

Aldi’s newest store in the Longwell Green area of Bristol was welcomed by over 200 shoppers hoping to be one of the lucky hundred to get their hands on a ‘golden ticket.’ The new store was attended by members of Longwell Green JFC.

To celebrate, golden envelopes containing special tickets to win prizes including a 32” HD LED TV, a Beer Fridge, a Dual Burner BBQ and much more were handed out to the first one hundred people in the queue. Chelsea Searl took home the star prize, after queuing from 10:30pm the night before, with many others walking away with great store products.

As part of Aldi’s engagement within the local community, the retailer is supporting Longwell Green JFC by sponsoring the under 8 team’s kit for the upcoming season. Players and staff from the club were invited to be part of the store opening and meet with customers.

The opening of the Longwell Green store has created 45 jobs for the local community and additional roles can be found online. The store is served by 90 car parking spaces and features around 1,400 product lines, where customers can expect a wide range of high quality and locally sourced produce.

With Aldi’s ‘Specialbuys’ days occurring every Thursday and Sunday offering customers fantastic savings on a range of electrical and household products, Aldi’s opening week ‘Specialbuys’ include; 32” HD LED TVs (£119.99), Dual Burner Gas Wagon BBQs (£29.99) and Espresso Coffee Machines (£29.99).

Aldi Store Manager, Matt Pople, commented: “My team and I very much enjoyed welcoming our new customers to the store; the turnout on the day was fantastic, with 100 people walking away with a prize.

“We hope the shoppers enjoyed our celebrations and I would like to thank everyone for their support.”
