Aldi Pitsea welcomes its first shoppers

Aldi’s newest store opening in Pitsea was welcomed by over 200 shoppers hoping to be one of the lucky hundred to get their hands on a ‘golden ticket.’ The new store was officially opened by the first Mayor of Basildon, Councillor Mo Larkin.

To celebrate, golden envelopes containing special tickets to win prizes including a 32” Full HD LED TV, 7” Tablet PC, Sat Nav Garmin Nuvi, HD Action Camcorder and much more were handed out to the first one hundred people in the queue. Nick Wood took home the star prize, after queuing from 2 am, with many others walking away with great store products.

The Pitsea store also marked the opening with a luxury food product donation to Home-Start Basildon and the store is also supporting the Rugrats Parent and Toddler group with donations from its award winning Mamia range.

The new store has created an extra 15 new jobs for the local community and additional roles can be found online. Aldi prides itself on high quality products at everyday low prices as well as locally sourced produce, and the new store is served with a range of around 1,400 product lines at affordable prices.

With Aldi’s ‘Specialbuys’ days occurring every Thursday and Sunday offering customers fantastic savings on a range of electrical and household products, Aldi’s opening week ‘Specialbuys’ include;

21.5" LED TVs and DVD Combi (£79.99), Espresso Coffee Machines (£34.99) and 300W Multifunction Tools (£14.99).

Aldi Store Manager, Jacqui Hunt commented: “My team and I have very much enjoyed welcoming our new customers to the store; the turnout for the day was fantastic, with 100 people walking away with a prize.

“We hope the shoppers enjoyed our celebrations and I would like to thank everyone for their support.”
