Aldi’s newest store in the Mapperley area of Nottingham

Aldi’s newest store in the Mapperley, Nottingham is now officially open

Aldi’s newest store in the Mapperley area of Nottingham was welcomed by over 170 shoppers hoping to be one of the lucky hundred to get their hands on a ‚golden ticket‘. The new store was officially opened by Aldi Store Manager Lisa Jones and players from Sherwood Junior FC.

To celebrate, golden envelopes containing special tickets to win prizes including a 32"TV, Portable DVD players and luxury bags of Aldi shopping were handed out to the first one hundred people in the queue. Garry Nahal took home the star prize after queuing from 5:30am with many others walking away with great store products.

Players and representatives from Sherwood Junior FC were invited to the store opening after Aldi provided funds to sponsor three team kits for the Under 12 girls, Under 13 boys and Under 15 boys teams this season as part of the retailer’s on-going community engagement activities in the area.

Aldi has recruited 50 new members of staff for the Mapperley store, and additional recruitment is still on-going. Details on store positions and how to apply can be found online at aldirecruitment.co.uk. The store is served by 115 car parking spaces and features around 1,350 product lines, where customers can expect a wide range of high quality and locally sourced produce.

Aldi Store Manager, Lisa Jones, commented: „My team and I very much enjoyed welcoming our new customers to the store. The turnout on the day was fantastic with hundreds of shoppers queuing and 100 people walking away with a prize, and we’re looking forward to welcoming further shoppers to the store in the coming months.“

„We were particularly pleased to welcome Sherwood Junior FC at the opening, and in sponsoring three of their teams, we hope the club has great success in the coming season.“
